On January 13th, 2023, Betty Emma Boyd, a beloved spouse and mother of three, went to be with the Lord after a long hard battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 85 years old. Betty was born to John and Gertrude Travis in Worth Township, PA. on April 28th, 1937. She grew up in and around the town of Tyrone, PA. During her high school years, she worked various jobs. She was a waitress at a soda fountain as well as a clerk at the local shoe store. She graduated from Tyrone High School in 1955 and then traveled to Quincy, WA for the summer and worked at a spud farm with her brother, Frank. She met her husband John Boyd at a square dance in Port Matilda, PA. After many months of courtship, she was married in December of 1956. They lived in Tyrone for 11 years before moving permanently to Washington...first to North Bend, then the last 52 years in Port Orchard.... 66 years of marriage. In Washington....she worked off and on as a waitress as well being a long-time cashier at Ernst Hardware and Garden.

She also has 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, as well as 4 step grandchildren. Two grandchildren are already with Jesus.
She has had many interests over the years including water aerobics with her girlfriends and longtime special friend Arlene; walking, watching her kids and grandkids play sporting events, traveling, motorcycle rides with her husband John on his Goldwing, motorcycle trips with her sister Ruby and husband Brian, dances at the Eagles, Sister trips; She cherished her pedicure and manicure outings with her friend Deb and Brenda on occasions, going to the beach at Fort Worden State Park every year......Probably her favorite thing to do every year was to be involved in the planning and participating in the Family Reunions.
She was a great role model and the best 'Mom' anyone could be blessed with.... She loved her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
