Gig Harbor, Washington
Bonnie Rae Campbell, a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend departed from us on October 7, 2024. Born in Tacoma, WA on July 11, 1940, Bonnie spent her last years living next to her twin brother in her home in Gig Harbor, Washington, where she resided for 12 years. She enjoyed her time there looking out on the water and sharing her home with loved ones.
Bonnie was an avid gardener and an active member of the Rhododendron society. There is even a rhododendron named after her called the “Bonnie Campbell.” She spent much of her time working in her garden, as she loved being surrounded by her favorite plants and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She talked fondly of summers working on Mt. Rainier in her youth, and was often heard saying with delight, “The mountain’s out!” She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and would shower them with love. Bonnie was also an active member of Discovery Bible Church and enjoyed attending the SALT group and studying God’s word.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Eric (Andie) Bartleson; Crag (Kristina) Bartleson; Deanna (Fernando) Gallegos Kelley; Scott (Staci) Kelley, and 8 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Ramond Campbell, her mother, Esther Power, and her twin brother Keith (Cholly) Campbell. Her life will be celebrated with a funeral service on Friday, November 1st, 2024 at 2:00pm at Discovery Bible Church; 4902 Gustafson DR NW, Gig Harbor, Washington, 98335. “For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him,” 1 Thessalonians 4:14.
As we remember Bonnie, we invite you to share your memories and photos on her memorial page. Let us celebrate Bonnie's life and the love she shared. Even in sorrow, we can find joy in the memories we shared with this remarkable woman. Bonnie's love and faith live on in each of us who had the privilege of knowing her.
