Charlene Mildred Courtois was born on February 9, 1943, in Alameda, California, and made her home in Tacoma, Washington, from 1969 until her passing on February 17, 2026.

Charlene lived with creativity and heart. She spent over 45 years as a devoted hairdresser, and found joy in painting, tending her plants, sewing, and baking with her grandchildren. Fiercely independent and always smiling, she loved church with friends and quiet sunsets at the beach.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother Louis; her son Dino Mattoni (Leah); her daughter Tiffany Kerr (Brian); and her cherished grandchildren Dino and Mia Mattoni, Gavin and Parish Kerr, and Rowan and Louis Ekler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Geraldine; her siblings Marshall (Marty) and Carolyn; and her beloved dog, Olivia.

We grieve her loss and hold close the peace she has found. Burial services will be held at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.
