Grace Seaman

Grace Seaman, age 92, of Gig Harbor WA, died peacefully on November 9, 2022. Born in Tacoma, Grace grew up, along with her younger sister Diane, in both Ashford at the foot of Mt Rainier and on Henderson Bay near Gig Harbor. Grace attended Annie Wright Seminary and Stanford University (Class of 1951).
Grace met her husband, Edwin Seaman, on a ski lift in Yosemite while they were both at Stanford. After graduating from Stanford, she taught kindergarten in San Mateo and Palo Alto. Grace and Ed lived in California, Washington, and Arizona and travelled to over 50 countries. They raised 3 boys: Chris, Matt and David who also all attended Stanford.
Grace had a special talent for making everything warm and beautiful for her family and friends - gardens, homes, meals, experiences and memories. Later in life she became a Master Gardener, a member of the Horsehead Bay Garden Club, and an accomplished ceramic artist, winning numerous awards.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Jessie Rexroth, husband, Ed, and her sons Chris and Matt. Grace will be missed dearly by her loved ones and is survived by her sister Diane, son David (Kathy), and 7 grandchildren (Whitney, Natalie, Sara, Heather, Amy, Michael, and Jeffrey), 7 great-grandchildren (Arthur, Colin, Rex, Henry, Kellen, and Hugh and Charlotte), and nieces Linnea, Katie, and Anne.
Grace will be interred in a private family service.
