Jean Lester

–

Graham, Washington

Jean Lester, born in the cozy town of Chehalis, WA on a brisk November day in 1953, was a humble soul who left us just shy of her 73rd birthday. She was the oldest of two and grew up with her brother Dave who was just 18 months younger. She attended and graduated from Battleground High School. Her parents preceeded her in death Frank and Mary Allen. Jean had a knack for making people smile with her smart wit and supportive nature. Her creativity bloomed not just in the garden but in every aspect of her life. As a retired payroll manager in the healthcare industry, she earned countless accolades, for her diligence, patience, and commitment to her work.

In her retirement Jean spent many years digging in to her garden. Jean's garden, quite literally, was her canvas. Her love for plants and learning about them was contagious, and she shared this passion as the treasurer of her garden club for many years. As well as with her grandkids. Often taking them with her to garden classes, on garden tours, and designing garden planters together. They all took turns keeping her pond looking its best in the summer for her to enjoy its spoils. Her proudest achievements were not her accolades but her children, Lacey and Shane, and her delightful grandkids, Taylor, Evan, Landen, and Kaynen.

Though Jean is now reunited with her beloved Joe, her legacy continues to thrive through her son Shane, daughter-in-law Rachael, grandsons Evan, Landen, Kaynen, granddaughter Taylor, and her two great grandsons and soon to be great grand daughter. Her life was a testament to the power of family and the joys of nurturing not just plants, but relationships. To all who knew her, Jean was a guiding light, and her spirit will forever be the sunshine in our gardens. We invite you to leave your cherished memories and upload photos to Jean's memorial page, celebrating a life well-lived and deeply loved.
