Joan Lonn

Joan Louise Lonn passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, in Gig Harbor, Washington, at the age of 90. She was born on April 28, 1936, in Bath, Maine, where she enjoyed her childhood and friendships. She met Victor Lonn at church in 1950. They married in 1953 and began their happy, adventurous life that welcomed four children. Her young family moved west of Maine several times, with the highlight being a move to Alaska in 1971.

Joan was an amazing woman who was just as comfortable fishing for salmon and building a cabin in the woods as she was attending a symphony performance and enjoying an upscale dinner with friends. She blessed her family by being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a devoted wife.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband in 2017, her son Rick Lonn in 2024, and her brother Harold F. Fuller in 1978. She is survived by three children, Suzie Smith (Karl), Wayne Lonn, and Linda Lonn. Five grandchildren: Liz Wellington (Tyson), Eric Lonn (Angel), Kory Smith (Amber), Jake Smith, and Garret Murphy. Five great-grandchildren: Brady, Carter, Kennedy, Baylor, and Iggy. Her sister, Margaret Safford Laguff who still resides in Bath, Maine, in the house they grew up in.
