On May 8, 2026, John Richard Carbone passed away at the age of 84.

He was born on July 12, 1941 to John and Elrita Carbone in Tacoma, Washington. He graduated from Bellarmine High School in 1959 and Saint Martin’s University in 1963, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree.

He continued working as a teacher with the Peninsula School District, teaching at Purdy Elementary School and Artondale Elementary School.

John retired from teaching and he and Cathy moved to Long Beach, Washington to enjoy retired life. John loved his family and friends and always welcomed them into their home for a weekend at the beach. He enjoyed sports, gardening, hunting, trap shooting, fishing, razor clamming, driving his Jeep on the beach, beach sunsets, and volunteering his time with the local sportsmen’s club, where he continued his passion of teaching the youth.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elrita Carbone; his wife, Cathy; and his brother, Joseph. He is survived by his brother, Jim; his two sons (and spouses): John (Yvonne); Curt (Christine); his three grandchildren: Jacob, Nicholas, and Nicole; his two great-grandchildren: Scottie and Kasen; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
